Accommodation in the centre of Brezno

The monumental railway bridge near Telgárt, built in the 1930s, impresses with nine stone arches, stretching 113 metres in length and rising 18 metres high. Surrounded by mountain scenery, it is one of the most photographed engineering landmarks in the Horehronie region. An easy trip to the viaduct takes about two to three hours round trip.

This modern 40‑metre‑high observation tower offers a stunning 360° view of Horehronie, the Low Tatras and the Muránska Plateau. The climb up 192 steps is easy and suitable even for casual visitors. It is one of the tallest lookout towers in Slovakia and a favourite hiking destination from Brezno.

Ride pedal‑powered railbikes along the abandoned tracks of the Čiernohronská railway. The route winds through the picturesque Hron valley, offering peaceful nature and scenic views. The round trip is about 10 kilometres and takes roughly three hours.

The highest accessible cave in Slovakia offers a real adrenaline experience in the depths of the Low Tatras. The route takes you through narrow passages, bridges and rope belays, revealing bat skeletons thousands of years old. Entry is only possible with a reservation and requires a hike from Trangoška.

This open‑air museum tells the story of mining and iron processing in the Horehronie region. During the tour you’ll see underground mines, a blacksmith’s forge, historic machines and even a small lookout tower with impressive views.
